September Artist Feature

Theresa Alley

This September, you have an opportunity to see the works of local artist, Sharon Trevathan at Smyrna art studio, Trellis & Vine. The gallery will feature works from both her Outer Space and Australia Coastal Highway Collections and will be showcased all month at 27 S Lowry Street in Smyrna.

Sharon sees art in the world all around her and beyond. She finds inspiration in her day to day life and nature as well as larger than life outer space. She mainly creates with acrylic and occasional watercolors and focuses on naturalistic subjects with some abstract paintings. Her goal is to inspire others by sharing her perspective and the peace she sees around her.

She is active in developing her art and engaging with the art community. You can find Sharon at the Smyrna Artist Co-Op, working with the Murfreesboro Art League and participating at the Rutherford Arts Alliance events. She’s always looking for ways to connect with other artists and you may have already seen some of her works in various art shows, art crawls and other local functions.

When asked about why she paints, Sharon shares “my hope and desire is to uplift others and share the peace and serenity that art inspires”. She hopes that her art will provide a quiet space for reflection as viewers experience her creations.
